Surcharging is optional and jurisdiction-aware. Card network rules block passing processing fees to your customer on debit and prepaid cards. We enforce this at checkout for card entry, and detect and correct wallet payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay) after settlement. Some US states and countries restrict surcharging altogether, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Puerto Rico, and Australia.
