BCTM is a payment and invoicing platform for contractors and tradespeople. Two parties charge fees per transaction:

• BCTM: Platform fee: 1.00% of invoice amount
• Stripe: Card processing: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (US)
• Stripe: ACH / Bank transfer: 0.8%, capped at $5.00
• N/A: Cash or check: No fees

Three modes: Pass fees to customer (default) / Contractor absorbs fees / Cash & Check. Fees are locked at invoice creation, no surprises at checkout.

The clearest way to see what your customer pays and what you take home is on a receipt. On a $100 card invoice where fees are passed to the customer:

The contractor nets the full $100.00. If the same invoice is paid by ACH bank transfer, the customer pays $101.80 (ACH is much cheaper on large invoices, since the Stripe ACH fee caps at $5.00 no matter the invoice size).

Processing fees are non-refundable per Stripe policy. On a full refund, the customer is refunded the service amount; the BCTM platform fee and Stripe processing fee are retained.

Passing the card processing fee to the customer is optional. The contractor can choose to absorb it, in which case the customer pays only the service amount and the fee is deducted from the contractor payout.

BCTM follows US federal card-network rules and state and territory surcharge regulations. Debit and prepaid cards are never surcharged. In jurisdictions where surcharging is restricted or requires a cash-discount format, the platform enforces the correct treatment at checkout.
